Wishing you all a Healthy and Happy 2010, with loads of laughs.

2010 will be exciting technology-wise all over the world, probably the most exciting year since the invention of YouTube.

A lot of technologies maturing just at the right time to make a massive impact in 2010, but, as history has shown down the years, it is always major world events which inspire quantum leaps in technology areas, and this year we have three of them :

  • The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

  • The 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa.

  • The realisation by every single cellphone maker, the largest one included, Nokia, that the only way forward is to match Apple's iPhone for ease of use.  I personally own a Nokia touch-screen phone, the 5800, but I know that if Nokia does not come up with something that is at least 90% as good as the latest iPhone, then I might just for the first time in 8 years move away from Nokia.  And I would move away from Nokia because I want to watch the Winter Olympics, the 2010 Soccer World Cup, access my bank account, or order an airline ticket on my phone if I am not at home to watch a real TV, or at work to watch stuff online.  Some of this I can do on my Nokia but it's way too cumbersome.

So, here at AnswersThatWork, through our blog we will highlight some of the best technological gems we come across, both for the techies and for the users, and we ourselves have three upcoming new gems up our sleeves for 2010.  But more on that later...

Happy New Year.

Ciao,
