The Time of No Sleep — The Coaches

Howdy,

So, all ready in your seats for The Time of No Sleep ?

Hard Disk recorder ready, repaired, or replaced with a new one ?

TV seat or sofa booked for June and July ?

TV & Recorder Remotes fully serviced with new batteries ?

Our World Cup 2010 wallchart in hand ?

Great, so let's start.

What you will find on every other website is an assessment of teams and their likelihood of winning the World Cup. We will do this too but with a major difference. Unlike all other websites we will not spend our time simply telling you Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Argentina, England, Brazil like everyone else. We here will look at the coaches.

Why ? Because the coaches win tournaments, not the teams. For those who read my match comments on our 2006 World Cup wallchart, you will all remember what I said in my commentary of the Ghana – Italy match : "Marcello Lippi. Mark this name down. This is a coach with a tremendous CV. This man has one business only, and he usually does it well, the business of WINNING !"

Coaches win World Cups. In my analysis of all World Cups past, in the modern era no World Cup has ever been won by a coach who had not, in his previous managerial life, already been used to winning major national championships, major national cups, etc... Only coaches who've been there and done it ever win a World Cup. Mark these words !

The time of No Sleep

There is a great advertisement for an airline currently showing on British TV at the moment. It goes something like this :

— "Soon Sleep will be a luxury"

— "Soon you will have no time for long showers"

— "Soon time relaxing reading a book will lose its appeal"

— "Soon long meals in a restaurant will be a luxury you can no longer afford"

— "Soon it will be the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.........!"

So, in preparation for the Time of No Sleep I will preview the 2010 World Cup in this second part of the month in a way you will not find anywhere else on the Internet. And if you are a betting person, you had better read this blog.
